Herring in a Fur Coat

Last night, Mila Kunis appeared on Jimmy Kimmel and talked about her favorite Ukranian dish that her Mom traditionally makes on New Years – “Seledka pod Shyboi,” which translates to “Herring in a fur coat.”

So for all of you wondering what the hell “Herring in a fur coat” dish looks like, refer to the above picture. It is indeed layers of shredded herring, carrots, beets, potatoes and eggs dressed in mayonnaise. Now I know that the description didn’t help the funny title sound any better but take my word for it, it tastes damn amazing.
