God Bless America for Rebecca Black, a 13 year-old overnight YouTube sensation from Anaheim Hills, CA. This 13 year old child asked her parents for $2,000 so she could record a song & shoot a video for it. Apparently ever since its debut on March 14, “Friday” has become the most hated song in America since Kim Kardashian’s first and hopefully last single – Jam.
The music video for the song became a viral hit, when the video’s view count on YouTube jumped from around 3,000 views to 18 million a week later, and is at 82 million today! Anyways, enough about this 13 year old that everybody is hating on because deep down inside they are super jealous that their own parents didn’t shell out a few thousand bucks on their own childhood stardom dreams. Come on, even when I saw this music video I immediately started to feel like I wasted my youth by not doing something as brilliant and dumb as this:
Last night, Stephen Colbert came on Jimmy Fallon’s show to perform Rebecca’s “Friday,” after losing a bet to Fallon. Stephen Colbert killed it with the help of the Roots, American Idol’s Taylor Hicks (which is probably the best thing he’s done since American Idol ended) and the New York Knicks dancers.
